Random reflections

The recent news that were interesting.
1. The escape of JI detainee. How did it happen? Was our security lousy? Too complacent? And after thousands of people search for him, where is the guy?
2. Hougang flats still can't be upgraded despite a long wait. Democratic?
3. The discussion of budget in parliament. There seemed no real talk on the budget. It's not exactly a big carrot, considering HK is giving $7b with no GST increase. And how did our talented staticians in the civil service go wrong? Why the estimated deficit balloon into a huge surplus?
4. The death of Fei Fei. She even got herself a day named after her in Vancouver.
5. The Edis0n Chen scandal. Stupid girls + naughty boy = lots of media attention. Actually if you look at it, this guy contributed much to the economy in the last month. The boost in media sales and the 2 female singers who offered $5m if they were found to be linked to the scandal. Wow. Lots of $$4.
6. Obama edging over Hilary. I bet he will win for sure.
7. Marriage of Tony and Carina. They've been onscreen since we were young. Now some 20 years later, they are still together. It's really tough for them must be. And because of today's article on them, I actually went to search for one of his best shows 'In the mood for love'. The director's just so good.
